Mutarelli was born in São Paulo, in 1964. He studied Painting at Faculdade de Belas Artes (College of Fine Arts), but found through comics the best medium to exorcise his anguish. He started by publishing his stories in the eighties through fanzines and self-released low-run editions. He has risen to cult status by creating a deeply autobiographical body of work with a profound reflection on the human condition. Place: Casa da Cultura de Beja
